Otto is a language course app for iPhone and Android, made by Lino van Mulken ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Otto.
Otto does not collect, send or sell any personal data. Everything you do in the app stays on your phone.
To run the course, Otto keeps these on your device only:
This data is not sent to us or to anyone else. It is removed when you delete the app. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include it, under Apple's or Google's privacy terms.
With CarPlay, Android Auto or a Bluetooth car, Otto plays its audio through your car. Your car and your phone's car software (from Apple or Google) handle that connection; Otto does not receive information about your car or your driving. If you start Otto with Siri or Google Assistant, the voice request is handled by Apple or Google, and Otto only receives the request itself, such as the language to play.
When paid content becomes available, purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your payment details, only whether a purchase is active.
Otto is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to view, correct or delete. Deleting the app removes everything Otto stored. If you have a question about privacy or about your rights under the GDPR, contact us at support@ottointhecar.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
If Otto starts handling personal data, for example to sync your progress between devices, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top.
